Matt Clark returns to Young & Restless on Wednesday, April 1, and his storyline is set to take some twists and turns that fans may not have anticipated, this according to Roger Howarth.

Noah and Sienna are bracing for Matt to pop up at any moment in Genoa City, and we’ve no doubt he’d be tickled to know that they’re on high alert. His text game is on point! But the truth is, when Clark finally shows his face onscreen again, we’ll learn that he’s not skulking around, and he’s not in Wisconsin.

In a recent chat, Howarth expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming segment of his storyline, which picks up after Matt purportedly went on the run after being released from jail on a technicality, telling Soap Opera Digest, “There’s a shift coming up in the story that’s been a lot of fun.”

Howarth teased that his character would have “some new people to bounce off of,” which could be a nod to Adam and Riza, who are tied into Nick’s search for Matt down in Las Vegas.

As for more twists and turns, we’re sure they’re coming, given that Nick’s set to plunge deeper into his drug addiction, and Adam’s playing a risky game… and we don’t mean poker! Revisiting his alter-ego, Spyder, and his connection to Riza, is akin to flirting with a return to his dark side. If Clark cops on to the Newman brothers’ vulnerabilities, he’s sure to use them to his advantage… and we can’t wait for the drama!
