Back in February, news came that Shemar Moore would be making another return to The Young and the Restless as Malcolm. And while that was exciting enough, it was announced that a blast from the past would be heading back with him. The Hollywood superstar, who will make his first appearance on Tuesday, April 7, recently chatted with TV Insider about what made this time around different and how it was to be reunited with Vivica A. Fox, who will reprise her role as Dr. Stephanie Simmons.

Though details about Malcolm and Stephanie’s return are being kept hush hush, it’s been teased that the news they bring with them will rock Genoa City and have lasting effects. One thing that is clear, Moore’s script was jam-packed and while the actor was happy to return, he explained with a chuckle, “I also have a bone to pick with Young and the Restless because… I didn’t know they were gonna make me memorize 124 pages for three days of work!” He then recalled that even when he was a mainstay as Malcolm years ago, he never had that many pages.

Moore misses Kristoff St. John (Neil) dearly but enjoyed once again working with Christel Khalil (Lily) and Bryton James (Devon) and reconnecting with Fox over their characters’ past. In fact, the two have crossed paths over the years. As for how things will unfold… Viewers can expect the drama to begin shortly after Malcolm and Stephanie resurface so buckle up because it sounds as though we’re going to be in for a bumpy ride! And guess what? He’ll be back in the studio again this month to wrap up filming for his latest storyline.
