Making a relationship work in Genoa City is tough under the best of circumstances. So when taking an objective look at Young & Restless’ Noah and Sienna — who have more than a few things going against them — it’s difficult to imagine them have a shot at longterm success.

But don’t tell that to his portrayer, Lucas Adams, who is clearly an optimist. Asked if Noah and Sienna are a good match or blind to the challenges they face, he admits it might be “a little from column A, and a little from column B! I think they’re a really good match, they work really well together and know how to communicate. But… ”

Ah, there’s the word which sets us down a different path. “They’re kind of trauma-bonded now… so that could be a ticking time bomb!”

Fans see a much bigger potential problem on the horizon in the form of Noah’s dad, Nick, who seems to have more in common with Sienna than does her current beau. Should Noah be worried about that bond, especially as his dad struggles with an addiction that Sienna understands so well, having lost a sibling to drugs?

“I think every soap relationship [involves someone] being worried about something,” the actor admits with a laugh. “But I don’t think so. I think he’s more worried about his father in that scenario. Not really the jealousy aspect. He’s more worried about the drug addiction and his father. He really knows how hard it hit Sienna… he realizes they could be close, but I don’t think there’s anything [romantic] there.”

Instead, Noah worries that his dad and Sienna might present a united front in dealing with him. “He’s like, ‘I don’t need to be babied by my parents or my girlfriend!’ And that will get him in his head a little bit.”
