And we’re back. And we’re back, y’all. Thank you for watching today. Go ahead and hit that like button, my people. You know that it helps us out a ton. And of course, it helps you because it helps us keep bringing you these stories every day.
Now, y’all, today in Minnesota, two things happened at the same time that seems to signal trouble for ICE. Y’all, at the very same time, or at least during the same day, Minnesota held a press conference saying that they are investigating ICE agents for kidnapping.
And we’re going to show you some video from that alleged or purported kidnapping here coming up on today’s video, y’all. Minnesota officials are looking to potentially go after ICE agents and arrest them for kidnapping. You’re going to see that here today.

Also, Minnesota held a hearing on the costs of ICE, and a local police chief, who says that he’s very much pro-immigration enforcement, nevertheless came out and said that the way that ICE agents conducted themselves in Minnesota earlier this year was not only wrong but that one of his own police got caught up in the fray, y’all, due to racial profiling.
So y’all, we’re going to take a look at that as well. Both of these conferences and hearings were held today. And finally, y’all, we’re going to remind you about how Tim Walls, he’s also the subject of an impeachment hearing that should be held this week, y’all. So without further ado, let’s go ahead and get into it.
One of those investigations involves a victim by the name of Scott Tao.
Video of an ICE operation in St. Paul is sparking anger after agents took a man from his home wearing only shorts, Crocs, and a blanket in single-digit temperatures. Family members say the man is Chong Lee Scott Tao. ICE drove him around for about an hour, then let him go.
Tao is a US citizen whose mother was one of the first nurses treating injured American troops during the secret war in Laos decades ago. Homeland Security says he lives with two convicted sex offenders, adding, quote, “The individual refused to be fingerprinted or facially IDed. He matched the descriptions of the targets.”
That statement makes me livid. Livid because those sex offenders—we should absolutely get people who have broken the law, who’ve hurt other people. Those people do not live in this household with him. They are not a part of this family. For ICE to put out a statement like that is irresponsible and reckless.
Tao’s family sent a statement overnight saying he does not know the alleged sex offenders ICE is looking for, adding that Tao lives with his adult son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. They also say agents did not have a warrant and did not ask for his ID.
And this was the incident involving Scott Tao, a United States citizen who was forcibly removed from his home. We believe that there was no legitimate legal reason for the federal agents to enter that home, that it was not supported by probable cause, and in violation of our United States Constitution.
He was forcibly removed from his home and taken out in freezing weather in his Crocs and a pair of shorts. He was questioned in the car away from his home for over an hour. Investigators want to show the work they have, but they also need federal cooperation.
Another important part of reporting today is that this case involves a felonious allegation of kidnapping, illegal detainment, and false imprisonment. They are looking at this as a potential kidnapping, holding someone against their will. These are ICE agents operating under the color of law, and they are asking the federal government for assistance.
Y’all, this is just wild. We’re going to follow up and keep you updated on what happens with that. Also, as I told you, a local police chief is also speaking out against ICE, saying they were doing the dirty deeds in Minnesota. He is lending his voice to the outcry, y’all.
Let’s listen to a brief clip from Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Brley and what he has to say about what happened to one of his officers during the ICE surge:
Members, today we will be hearing about the economic impact of Operation Metro Surge. We do have a number of testifiers, so we will be asking members to save their questions until the end and asking all the testifiers if they can stay around to answer any questions. Next, we have Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Brley on Zoom.
Thank you, Chair Fraser, and good morning members of the committee. I am Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Brley. I’ve served in law enforcement for 30 years. What you will not hear from me today is that we should abolish ICE. Federal immigration enforcement is an integral part of our national security, and I have a long and productive history of working closely with federal agents. Some of the finest men and women I have been around.
What we saw during Operation Metro Surge, particularly in late December and January, was not the federal partnership I have known for three decades. During the surge, police officers and civilian employees across the state began reporting being stopped in traffic or on the street without cause for what appeared to be solely because of the color of their skin.
In one specific example, a Brooklyn Park officer was stopped by unidentified federal agents. The officer had their child in the vehicle and simply drove past the federal agents before making contact. The federal agents stopped the off-duty officer by boxing in their vehicle. They wore no insignia beyond generic police markings, provided no identification, and concealed their faces. When the officer attempted to record the encounter, agents knocked the phone from their hands.
Federal agents had guns drawn and only left after the officer identified themselves as a Brooklyn Park police officer. I can only imagine how many residents had the same experience but had no badge to protect them. I am not here because it was my employees being stopped. I’m speaking out because my employees know the rules. They understand policing, the Constitution, and the legal guidelines within which we operate.
When they come to me with fear in their eyes and anger in their voice, telling me they believe they were targeted for no other reason than the color of their skin, I felt the need to sound the alarm. Every mechanism of accountability we relied upon in the past was broken or missing. Agents were not wearing name tags, covered their faces, and lacked body cameras. When they wore vests labeled “police,” the public believed it was us. The trust that local police departments have built over six years eroded in a matter of weeks.
And y’all, don’t forget this week, Minnesota lawmakers are holding hearings trying to impeach your boy, Tim Walls. He’s not going to be running for reelection. He’s going to be out of government at the end of the year anyway. But they’re holding impeachment hearings nevertheless, y’all.
Articles of impeachment against Minnesota Governor Tim Walls have been filed by House lawmakers amid the state’s fight against fraud, alleging Walls was aware of fraud allegations and not only failed to act on them, but willfully hindered investigations and allowed fraud to run rampant.
ABC 6 News reporter Chandler Jackson has been looking into this latest move and has more:
When we sit in the chamber above, the word is “frugality.” I take this very seriously because these are taxpayer dollars getting squandered.
Minnesota Republican House Representative Mike Weiner explained his rationale for filing these articles of impeachment against Governor Tim Walls. Weiner represents a portion of central Minnesota, including two of the poorest counties in the state. He says this comes down to holding politicians accountable for the fraud that has reached estimates of $9 billion according to federal prosecutors.
A month before the legislative session begins, Weiner says he hopes to garner support for this move. He already has 10 other Republican representatives on board, including Steve Jacobs and Pam Altonorf. But Weiner wants to get bipartisan support.
With the House of Representatives still locked at 67 a piece, Weiner would have to have bipartisan support to get a majority to pass his articles. But the likelihood of that could be slim, as at least some DFLers see this move as nothing but political theater, especially with federal immigration action still taking place across the state.
Just this week, the Minnesota Freedom Caucus announced that the impeachment hearings will be going forward and will start next week. So your boy Tim Walls and Keith Ellison, his attorney general, will have some explaining to do.
Hey folks, Minnesota House Freedom Caucus here. Just a quick update on the impeachment of Tim Walls and Keith Ellison. It is confirmed: impeachment hearings next week, Wednesday, in rules committee, 10:15 a.m. Please tune in.
So yeah, y’all. Things are still moving in Minnesota. It looks like this might be the first place where we actually see a state try to arrest ICE agents or multiple agents for activities that they did while on duty. That is going to be crossing a bit of a Rubicon in my opinion.
I really can’t even predict what might happen. I can’t even see the federal government working with them to help make that happen. But what do you think? Do you think Minnesota is going to arrest ICE agents for activities they conducted while on duty? Do you think the federal government is going to help Minnesota with this investigation? Do you think they will allow them to arrest the ICE agents? Let me know what y’all think. Drop a comment down below.
